American Gospel Quartet Convention History

The purpose of the American Gospel Quartet Convention is to re-establish Jesus as the foundation of our music. We further want to return to living what we sing about.   Next, we want to learn more about the business of music and finally, we want to promote wholesome fellowship.  The American Gospel Quartet Convention's purpose remains intact as attendance has grown from serving several hundred in 1993, to serving over five thousand in 1997. There were also over five thousand in attendance in 1999.  The mission, as the Lord directed, is to call the gospel quarteters back to our foundation -  Jesus Christ.   In doing so, twenty conventioneers have been saved and/or baptized during the convention.  We have also created a learning environment for quarteters interested in learning about the ins and outs of the music business.  From this environment, much beneficial information has come forth, enhancing the careers of the attendees.  And finally, the wholesome fellowship of The American Gospel Quartet Convention has been responsible for providing an opportunity for hundreds of lifelong relationships to be formed.

Through the unselfish support of The Advisory Board, Record Labels, Promoters, Announcers, Managers and The Gospel Quarteters and their supporters, The American Gospel Quartet Convention is making a tremendous impact on the quartet field.   We have come a long way, but the wonderful journey will continue until every quarteter is on board.  The Lord promised, "If I Can Get The Quarteters Saved, I Can Save The World Through Them".
